ABOUT NIOMI HAYZ
Hello! Let me introduce you to all things Niomi!I dream to be apart of teams that inspire the imagination, encourage adventure and reignite all sense of wonder!Perhaps the most important things to note:1. I am filled with passion for people and my work.2. I am an advocate and change maker! My career started in the Mortgage Industry at just 16 years old. What began as a summer job quickly evolved into a full time pursuit, side by side with completing high school. Today, I have nearly 10 years of experience in the mortgage industry wearing many hats along the way. Now I am a full time student pursuing a career change to Video Game Design and Development. I am so excited to take all that I learned in the corporate world and bring it to my passion for Games and Interactive Media. I aspire to bring the vast worlds and adventures that are typically constrained to the imagination, to everyday people. Having a background in dance, the physical aspect of VR/AR experiences is especially alluring to me. How we can we encourage players to play games that interact not only with their minds but with their physicality as well! The Mortgage Era:I am able to adapt to the needs of my work environment and get any job done. I have experience in event planning, managing and training new team members, leading meetings both in person and virtually, and even have experience in cold call sales. In my time in the industry, I have become strong in my ability to time manage, keep calm in periods of high stress, and walk into new/unfamiliar projects with confidence. The Game Dev Era:Since becoming a student in the Game Dev space, I have discovered many gaps in knowledge between students and professionals in the industry. It has been my utmost pleasure to identify not only shortcomings in my community, but solutions. I have taken steps to form bridges and encourage fellow students to challenge themselves and go the extra mile.It has become a side quest of sorts to push my peers into \'real-world\' every day developer spaces. In early 2025, I was able to lead a team of students to a tour of the Game Studio, and have since returned to the studio to take the Dean\'s of our program through the facility and aid them as we design our new Game Labs coming mid-2026.I am thrilled to continue growing in this industry as I begin my passion project, a fantasy action adventure RPG to be announced soon! Please feel free to connect with me here! Let\'s discuss all that we are passionate about!
