ABOUT NINA PIOTROWSKA
Hi, I’m Nina I’m a passionate advocate for mental health, blending my expertise in media, communications, and creative strategies to drive impactful change. With a Bachelor’s degree in Media and Communications and over four years of experience, I specialise in using digital platforms, events, and campaigns to raise awareness and spark conversations in mental health, across partnership working. My work spans social media, websites, podcasts, blogs, videos, bulletins, printed materials, public speaking, and wider communication strategies, ensuring impactful engagement both online and offline. My passion for communication and creativity extends into public speaking, where I’ve had the honour of being a host and panelist at commsHERO 2024, focusing on mental health and comms. I was also highly commended in the Gen-Z Superstar category at the same event. Beyond this, I’ve hosted and led the Take the Mic series—creating a platform for young people to share their mental health experiences through creativity, poetry and rap. I’ve also shared my insights on The Dojo podcast by Exposure Ninja, spoken on mental health and marketing, and delivered keynote speeches with Attune, using storytelling and lived experience to incite change. Additionally, I was interviewed on BBC Radio Leeds about the Great Yorkshire Abseil, raising funds and awareness for mental health charities. I’m passionate about co-production, particularly with young people, ensuring they feel seen, heard, and actively involved in shaping mental health initiatives that affect them. My experience in this area led me to develop Take the Mic into a space where young people can express themselves through spoken word, art, and performance. I’m also developing my skills in wider community engagement through the Listen in Cycle, facilitating conversations about healthcare with diverse communities. Whether through planning events, crafting compelling communications, or engaging audiences, I’m deeply committed to using creativity and communication to amplify voices and drive meaningful change. I believe in the power of lived experience and bring my own journey into the work I do to inspire, educate, and empower others. Let’s connect and explore how we can use creativity and communication to make a difference.
