ABOUT NICKI KENNEDY

I am an experienced and enthusiastic intellectual property attorney. I split my practice between patent prosecution and post-grant proceedings before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board. I focus on client counseling, portfolio development, strategy and management, US and foreign patent preparation/prosecution, as well as managing foreign invalidity and opposition proceedings. My practice spans a wide range of technologies with a focus on the chemical and life sciences industry including chemical engineering, chemistry, clean energy, cosmetics, and nutritional/pharmaceutical supplements, as well as medical devices. I have extensive experience preparing complex patentability, invalidity, non-infringement, and freedom-to-operate opinions, as well as state-of-the-art analyses. I am a team leader of Kilpatrick\'s Chemistry and Life Sciences Team, a Board member of the Licensing Executives Society (LES), a Chair of the LES Membership Committee, and a Chair of the LES Physical Sciences Sector. I am admitted to the State Bar of Colorado and to the Bar of the District of Columbia. I am licensed to practice before the US Patent & Trademark Office.In addition to my intellectual property practice, I have a passion for pro bono work. While I do some pro bono patent application drafting, I focus my pro bono time on immigration work, particularly for asylum cases.
