ABOUT NICK KYONKA

As a seasoned leader and professional, I\'ve had the great pleasure of working in fascinating fields and collaborating with remarkable people to deliver achievements that improve the lives of Canadians. I began my career as a journalist for the Toronto Star, where I honed my research and communication skills while working closely with some of Canada’s leading reporters and editors. Following that, I had the honour of working in the citadel of Canadian democracy on Parliament Hill – first as a legislative assistant and then as a member of the Parliamentary Press Gallery – forging connections with Members of Parliament and Canadian leaders across a variety of industries and fields. In 2016, I helped pioneer the first national council dedicated to helping ensure the continued safety of Canadian communications towers and the people who build and maintain them. Under my leadership, the Structure, Tower & Antenna Council (STAC) grew from a small start-up with 10 corporate members to a blossoming and close-knit community of industry professionals from more than 130 organizations who put their competitive interests aside to collaborate on common safety initiatives. More recently, I have taken on a new challenge as the Director of Marketing & Communications for the Canadian Wireless Telecommunications Association, giving me the opportunity to share the incredible story of our national wireless industry, the value world-class networks deliver to Canadians, and the people who make it all possible. Throughout my career, I\'ve maintained an upbeat and idealistic view of my work. Through hard work, an innovative mindset and a collaborative approach, I have learned I am often able to achieve what others believe impossible. I\'m always up for a new challenge and I believe that my broad range of experiences has equipped me with a unique set of skills and perspectives that enable me to thrive in any environment.
