I’m a senior engineering leader with a track record of scaling distributed software systems and engineering organizations from fast-paced startup through post-IPO growth.I currently lead five teams and 50 engineers responsible for Klaviyo\'s data infrastructure. My teams build and operate systems processing petabytes of data using MySQL, Kafka, Spark, Iceberg, ClickHouse, and other modern data technologies on AWS. I\'ve played a central role in shaping the data platform roadmap by translating business and product needs into a multi-year technical strategy. I\'ve also built the team and operational foundations to execute on that vision, from recruiting top talent to establishing engineering standards and developing leaders within my organization. My teams have delivered dozens of projects to create new platform capabilities, support our AI/ML teams, and ship customer-facing features.Before moving into leadership, I built deep technical expertise across the engineering stack. I led a ground-up rebuild of Klaviyo\'s segmentation engine using ClickHouse and Kafka, reducing infrastructure costs by over 70% while enabling new product capabilities. I designed and built sharded OLTP database architectures, APIs, and real-time streaming pipelines that handled Black Friday and Cyber Monday traffic every year.
