Nelson B. Thall is a media and technology entrepreneur with roots in newspaper and publishing businesses. For over 75 years The Thall family were Voting Trust Members, owners, and operators of the Toronto Star, Canada’s largest newspaper. As a teenager, Nelson became involved in the business, gaining early experience in public markets, governance, and managing complex partnerships. With Nelson’s strategic lead, the Thall family was the only major shareholder with the foresight to exit before the company’s decline, a decision that provided invaluable early lessons in leadership and strategic timing.Nelson is the co-founder and CEO of HVR, a community engagement platform that blends the best of browsing and social to make the web more conversational and community-driven. Built with Web3 in mind, HVR empowers creators and publishers to do more with the spaces they own, turning static websites into interactive hubs for conversation, engagement, and on-chain utility.Nelson is also a Partner and the Chief of Special Accounts at Zero to One Strategic, a firm that enables Canadian businesses to access non-dilutive capital through SR & ED tax credits and government grants.
