From a respectful upbringing in small-town Alberta, I learned the value of community. Things like sports teams and special events did not happen in our farming town if not for everyone doing their part to pitch in. Moving to Edmonton, I longed for that sense of community and found it through volunteering with various organizations. I\'ve been a mentor with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Edmonton for over 4 years now and enjoy seeing my Little grow into a confident young lady.
