A multi-disciplined technologist, my mains areas of work are software engineering & development, sysadmin and consultancy.My technical work has consisted of the following:Development; PHP, Javascript, MySQL.Net, SQL Server, Gitlab (migrated from TFS). VB.Net, C#.Net, PowerShell, Bash.Sysadmin; specifying platforms for clients, configuration and maintenance, development work, using Azure, AWS, Hyper-V and bare-metal.R&D ( & discovery work); Assisting the both development team and management by working out how to do something and then passing on that information to those who need it. That work has also served to assist the business owners in tendering for R&D grants. This work has been hugely interesting and rewarding and has opened me up to a huge variety of technologies, some of which are rather niche. These include Apache Tomcat, Geoserver and Firebird, to name just a few.My consultancy work has been focussed on requirements surrounding cyber security, the importance of professional threat assessment and pen-testing and helping raise awareness of phishing, email scams and how an active attitude toward security must permeate the company culture. Additionally, this and my previous roles have included regular customer liaison and this is also an aspect I enjoy to a great degree.I am a certified GDPR practitioner and have advised clients regarding their GDPR requirements and compliance.
