The major purpose of this role is to provide overall leadership and guidance for several major ongoing initiatives that are required to help Cummins Power Generation move further toward a World Class Manufacturing organization. Key among these initiatives are: a) Designing and implementing plans to develop a more engaged, higher performance worldwide workforce - integrating Continuous Improvement into the CPG Cummins Operating System. b) Helping lead the operations organizational development process for manufacturing leaders. This will involve recruiting, mentoring, and developing training and development plans for worldwide operations leadership. c) Providing guidance to several major plant-specific programs that will lead to significant changes in business and operating practices in the relevant plants – integrating these programs into the overall execution of CPG’s Manufacturing Strategy. d) Work with other key operations leaders to drive ongoing integration of manufacturing strategy with overall business strategies and product planning. Visibility and potential impact of position are very large; full execution of CPG manufacturing strategy is key to the continued progress of CPG’s Low Cost Producer strategy.
