ABOUT NEIL BEGLEY
Currently a seasoned Senior Vice President and thought leader on Moody’s Tech-Media-Telecom team. Since joining Moody’s in 1994, I have been responsible for a credit ratings and research for portfolio of large cap and other notable investment-grade and speculative-grade media, telecom, entertainment and sports issuers. This list of companies where I have been the lead presently and in the past includes public and private companies such as AT & T, The Walt Disney Company, Comcast, Charter Communications, Lamar Outdoor, Six Flags, Alphabet, Meta, Fox, Netflix, ActivisionBlizzard, Electronic Arts, Paramount, DISH Network, Lions Gate, sports leagues like the NFL and NASCAR, and many teams across every major sport, among many others. Actively quoted in the press and appearances on television regarding industry developments, mergers and acquisitions and strategy. I was a past member of Moody\'s Technology Disruption, ESG, Social Media and Fintech steering committees. Before coming to Moody’s, I was with Barclays Bank PLC’s merchant banking arm, Barclays de Zoete Wedd in New York. I began working at Barclays in 1989, concentrating on corporate finance for the Communications Group which included large and small media and telecom companies. I specialized in such industries as cable television, broadcasting, television networks, wireless and wireline telecommunications, satellites and related others. Prior to working at Barclays, I was a senior accountant in KPMG’s auditing practice. I spent approximately four years in public accounting where he earned his CPA and specialized in industries such as financial institutions, manufacturing and middle market. I graduated from St. John’s University with a BS in accounting. I live on Long Island with my wife and I have four grown children. He has been active in local civic group leadership and in causes supporting people with autism. On a personal note, I love to ski, play ice hockey, golfing, hiking, lake life, travel, Irish music and the uillean pipes, and classic cars.
