ABOUT NEELAY MEHENDALE
I am a biologist and biotechnologist with an interdisciplinary background in fundamental biological research and assay development encompassing mammalian (cellular and animal) systems. With a penchant for mass spectrometry based research, I thrive in collaborative environments to advance project milestones toward success. I have so far gathered valueable experience in targeted and untargeted mass spectrometry of lipids, metabolites and proteins through my doctoral and postdoctoral research. Having a strong background in platform research, I would like to apply my expertise in engaged research. I am open to scientist opportunities in institutions or industries. My areas of expertise: • Mass spectrometry, HPLC-MS/MSlipidomics labeling and extraction, targeted and quantative mass spectrometry. Immunoprecipitation / affinity-based pulldown, bottom-up proteomics, ReDiMe labeling, untargeted, targeted and quantitative mass spectrometry • Mammalian cell culture: Mouse primary macrophage, neuron, astrocyte and microglia culture, transfection, chemical genetic screen • Molecular Biology and Protein Biochemistry: PCR, Protein purification, estimation, enzyme assays (colorimetry, fluorimetry and mass spec based), PAGE, Western Blot • Chromatography: Liquid Chromatography, including Hydrophobic Interaction Chromatography (HIC), Affinity chromatography, TLC • Miscellaneous: Mouse handling, Histology and Immunohistochemistry, Network pharmacology
