ABOUT NATHANIEL TAYLOR

Patent Attorney with a passion for sustainable engineering projects. I have specialist knowledge of control systems theory and high-tech sustainability technologies in the automotive and renewable energy fields, with experience in technologies stretching from autonomous warehousing technologies, and industrial power management systems, to fashion, packaging and consumer products.I have experience working on both sides of the IP profession - having spent the best part of a year in-house at Jaguar Land Rover - where I managed patent portfolios for the company and worked alongside various engineering departments to extract inventions from the product development cycle and convert ideas into Intellectual Property assets. Before entering the world of Intellectual Property, I graduated from the University of Bath with a 1st class Master\'s degree in Mechanical Engineering, where my understanding of engineering principles was given the litmus test (and my courage for that matter) as I shared my time between my Master\'s project - producing prototype electro-hydrostatic actuators with high-performance control systems - and my hobby - developing an electric motorcycle for the Isle of Man TT race (I just about survived that ordeal!) I have also previously spent 18 months working at AtkinsRéalis, an engineering consultancy, where I developed a particular interest in sustainable construction projects, working on off-shore wind turbine projects, nuclear facilities, and building services. Outside of work, I am a keen footballer and optimistic golfer, an enthusiast for hip-hop and Elvis, and a budding potter. when time allows!
