ABOUT NATHAN SAINZ

Working as a commercial Designer/Draftsman at BDA Architecture for over two years, in Albuquerque, NM, I have gained first-hand experience in commercial drafting, and have directly applied my background knowledge, obtained from an associates’ degree in Architectural /Engineering. At BDA, working and collaborating with Mechanical/Electrical/Plumbing/Structural and Civil disciplines I was solely responsible for implementing a new technique to calculate the way that we estimated materials used in the design-build process; this technique saved the company thousands of dollars in wasted materials alone. Also, when BDA adopted AutoCAD Architecture 2008 as our main platform for drawings involving 3-D Rendering Applications, I was solely responsible for the education/training of the drafting staff when upgrading the new platform, resulting in a smooth, timely and successful transition. I currently work as an electrical design engineer for Bridgers & Paxton. Besides my excellent team-building skills, I have proven successes in creatively working in areas outside of my realm of experience and/or expertise (see resume). I have taken on increasing responsibilities throughout my work history and am able to work independently to achieve company goals. Aside from my ten-plus years of architectural experience, I have worked on several residential and commercial projects independently. These projects include complete residential and commercial designs, up to and including, development, to construction documents-most recently, the expansion of the Brazos Lodge, near Chama, NM.
