ABOUT NATHAN MERRICK
I am a passionate and caring leader who brings out the most in my employees through mentorship, leadership, and oversight based upon their needs. Over the last 14 years, I have quickly progressed through Product Management responsibilities with involvement in both Healthcare and Financial solutions. These responsibilities included both new product development and mature product oversight through team management. I thrive on collaboration with both domestic and international disparate teams to create the best solutions for our clients. I can \"talk-the-talk\" with executives and write Epics/Stories or Functional/Non-Functionality documents with designers, developers, testers, and management. With experience in both business to consumer (B2C) and business to business (B2B) products, I know each product that is being developed needs to be looked at from multiple lenses in order to be successful. Additionally, this requires effective collaboration across multiple team and numerous levels. Collaboration with clients is something I push more and more. If we are not listening to what the clients are saying then we are not looking at the full story. I believe in full accountability for both myself and my team and when we succeed we celebrate and when we fail we learn. Unless we ensure a cohesive strategy across teams then we are going to fail, that is why I think it is important for the Product team to work very closely with Sales, Marketing, Finance, MIS, and various other teams on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis depending on the need. Personally, I believe that a Product Manager should have effective knowledge of development techniques/languages and be able to provide recommendations on product functionality based upon the technologies available to the developers and testers.
