WORK HISTORY
Senior Writer @Bloomberg Originals
London, GB
I\'m a Senior Writer for Bloomberg Originals\' flagship weekly documentaries, which regularly reach millions of viewers around the world. In addition to writing these short films, I often contribute on-camera reporting and voiceover as a correspondent. Contrary to the last 18 years of my career, this role sees my areas of coverage expand outside of just technology; although tech is still a core part of the remit and I work closely with that team, I also now cover economics, finance, politics, and other areas central to Bloomberg News. I report to the studio’s Executive Producer. The role relies on close collaboration with our global team of nearly journalists and editors, across print, online, television, radio, podcasts and the Bloomberg Terminal. It\'s a demanding position that pulls on my experience as a writer, reporter, editor and media producer, and my understanding of global newsroom practices.I’ll continue to discuss technology on Bloomberg Television and radio, and on stage at events around the world. My shoe size is a UK 10.
SKILLS
ABOUT NATE LANXON
I\'m a technology journalist, editor and public speaker, currently working for Bloomberg. I\'ve spent two decades covering the technology industry in print, on TV, across the web and on event stages around the globe. I have written for or spoken on WIRED magazine, CNET, Ars Technica, BBC television and radio, ITV\'s This Morning, Bloomberg, Channel 4 and Sky News. You\'ll find me as often by my written work as my video and TV output, and I\'m a regular main-stage public speaker at events around the world.I\'m primarily a consumer technology and business multi-platform journalist, covering the industry and its companies, as well as products and people that drive it forwards. My greatest skill is bringing technology trends alive via conversation with experts, helping make audiences smarter through engaging, entertaining and thoughtful discussion. Make them laugh, then make them think. I also founded, produce and host the Webby Award-nominated Tech’s Message podcast, which succeeded my work launching and hosting WIRED’s long-running UK podcast. I have been twice shortlisted for awards from the British Society of Magazine Editors.I\'m passionate about animal welfare and work closely with Cats Protection in a volunteer capacity. I’m also a mental health first aider at Bloomberg (trained by MHFA England). Two bonus fun facts: I keep giant African land snails as pets, and I\'ve played the drums for 30 years. Regrettably, neither of these interests have measurably contributed to my career. I live in hope!
