ABOUT NATALIE SHEPP
I am committed to creating community-led initiatives focused on reducing air pollution emissions, with an emphasis on climate change, environmental justice, and community health. After receiving a BS in Environmental Science from the University of Arizona in 1998, I began my career in air quality at the Pima County Department of Environmental (PDEQ), working in emissions inventories and compliance, and then moving in to air quality planning and modeling at Pima Association of Governments. In 2012, I made a career change to youth development programs, working with the University of Arizona - Pima County Cooperative Extension, creating and implementing the 4-H Healthy Living Ambassadors program at the Tucson Village Farm. In 2019, I received a Master\'s of Public Health from the University of Arizona. In 2021, I transitioned back to PDEQ as a Senior Program Manager for Outreach and Education, leading the County\'s Clean Air Program and implementing Environmental Justice programs. In 2024, I became the Climate and Community Engagement Manager and was given the opportunity to lead Pima County\'s first regional Climate Action Plan. I also served on the Board of Directors with Community Gardens of Tucson, promoting sustainable urban agriculture and composting.
