Natalie Buchoz was just named 2025 Orange Coast Magazine\'s a Top Badass Women in Business. Imagine going from being a happy athletic teenager to becoming paralyzed from the neck down – with no feeling, movement, or cure for a brighter medical outcome. She had the drive and skill to become a Division 1 athlete but her life took a different direction. Meet Natalie Buchoz (pronounced Bu-cose)– Natalie was 15 years old when she had a life-changing cervical spinal cord injury that almost took her life and left her a quadriplegic just days before her 16th birthday. How would you process learning how to breathe and sit up independently again? When you have everything taken away from you – you can either stay stagnant or move forward despite all circumstances stacked against you – Natalie chose to bravely move forward.Through Natalie’s injury recovery – she was told she would never be independent, work, use her hands or legs, walk or live a fully purposeful life. Natalie had to re-learn basic tasks like folding a fork to feed herself, putting on her shoes, typing on a computer and texting. Through her recovery, Natalie’s supporters coined her positive and confident attitude through her spinal cord injury journey her ‘Nattitude’ – which defined Natalie’s persistence to never give up despite her circumstances. As time went on Natalie continued to defy all odds by walking at her high school graduation, attending University of Southern California (USC) and earning a bachelor’s degree in public relations and business, and becoming one of the first producers with a spinal cord injury to trailblaze in field. Natalie’s struggles and success can be credited to her unwavering faith, incredible family and friends.Currently, Natalie Buchoz is a producer, media director and Christian. She has worked alongside some of the top celebrity talent in the world including celebrity Psychiatrist Dr. Daniel Amen There will always be moments in one’s life where they will have to choose to be defined by their past or let their past change and define them for the better. Natalie’s drive is an example of never giving up despite your circumstances – and that it doesn’t matter how slow you move as long as you keep rolling forward. Sometimes your purpose and calling isn’t how you imagined – it’s bigger.
