ABOUT NASHEED I JAMAL

With my dual background as an academic neurologist and an MBA, I aim to contribute to an international organization for which my business strategy and neuroscience skills will accelerate its development.I am a seasoned leader in both academia and healthcare. During the pandemic, I led the Neurology Service of the largest integrated healthcare organization within the US Department of Veterans Affairs. As a Neurology professor and fellowship director, I have been involved in creating national guidelines for postgraduate education and a five-year strategic plan for a top-tier neurology department. My research background in neuroscience, honed at MIT, École normale supérieure, and Georgetown, and my business knowledge, particularly of social & inclusive enterprises and strategy, inform my problem-solving and decision-making in the boardroom, the classroom, and the clinic room. Throughout my career, I have championed diversity, equity, and inclusion at prestigious institutions on both sides of the Atlantic. Given my professional experience, I have been invited to speak on leadership, women in medicine, and neuromuscular medicine at several international conferences.I am seeking to apply my multifaceted expertise – administration, strategy, social business, higher education, clinical neurology, neuroscience, and telemedicine – to design and implement solutions to pressing global health & /or global education challenges.
