ABOUT NARAYANE RIBEIRO MEDEIROS

With a strong background in robotics, space applications, and scientific research, contributions to academia and the space sector have been diverse and impactful. Recognition includes prestigious awards such as University Talent by Education Ministry for outstanding undergraduates, the Carolina Bori National Award 2025 for impactful research as an engineering student, and being a NASA Global Finalist 2024 in the Space Apps Challenge. The Space Apps Challenge is the world\'s largest global hackathon, organized annually by NASA in collaboration with international space agencies. In 2024, nearly projects were submitted by participants worldwide, and only 40 projects were selected as Global Finalists. This distinction places the project among the top 0.4% of all submissions, highlighting its global relevance and potential impact. The finalist project focused on the application of satellite data geoprocessing to monitor greenhouse gases, addressing critical challenges and showing it to public schools focusing on facilitating access and climate change education for students in a situation of socioeconomic vulnerability.Significant achievements in robotics include leading roles in 1st Place-winning teams at both the Brazilian and Latin American Robotics Competitions for humanoids research group ITAndroids. In addition, part of this research is focused on the adaptation of humanoid robots for high-risk tasks in Martian missions, addressing challenges in autonomy, mobility, and environmental resilience for future planetary exploration.Academic contributions also include participation in the Selene Project, a research initiative at the International Space University (ISU), where work focused on the technical specification of a beacon solution for astronaut localization and rescue on the Moon. This project, developed in collaboration with researchers from 12 countries as part of the Southern Hemisphere Space Studies Program 2025 (SHSSP25), will be published by ISU, contributing to international space safety and exploration efforts. Additionally, research extends to climate action, publishing a predictive model framework for climate initiatives in the IAA Latin American Small Satellite Conference 2024. These accomplishments reflect a commitment to advancing technology, sustainability, and space exploration through research, leadership, and innovation. My goal is to continue learning and innovating in the fields of aerospace and robotics, and to contribute to the advancement of science and technology in Brazil and beyond.
