ABOUT NADINE CORTEZ
I have a deep appreciation for the complexity of human experiences. As someone who was born and raised in Hong Kong and now identifies as a Filipino Canadian, I have had the opportunity to experience and appreciate the unique qualities of various cultures. This has helped me develop a deep sense of empathy and understanding toward people from all walks of life. I strive to be a culturally responsive counsellor who is sensitive to the needs of individuals from diverse backgrounds to be able to better understand and appreciate the nuances of my client\'s experiences. As a result, my personal approach to counselling is rooted in the belief that there is no one-size-fits-all solution. Rather, I aim to borrow concepts from various therapeutic modalities, such as CBT, psychodynamic psychotherapy, client-centered therapy, and emotion-focused therapy, in order to provide a personalized approach that meets each individual\'s unique needs. I believe that a holistic approach allows clients to gain a deeper understanding of themselves and their experiences, ultimately leading to greater personal growth and positive change.
