I joined IBM as part of the degree apprenticeship scheme in 2018 and have worked predominantly across the public sector for various clients in a number of roles over the years. I started my journey working for HMRC as an assurance tester, validating critical infrastructure of the new nationally essential customs platform, used to process all imports and exports within the UK. This also involved working as a Business Analyst to define and deliver scope.From there, I moved onto creating POCs for Moorfield Hospital and Hampshire Police, 2 projects which were recognised for their viability and efficiency. I was next assigned to Scottish Government, where I worked as a DevOps engineer, working on the development of the nationally critical benefits system which has been rolled out across all of Scotland. My role also involved the transformation to cloud for the client, as they made the transition of their infrastructure to automated cloud services. Upon leaving Scottish Government, I returned to HMRC to work as a Delivery Manager where I currently reside. My role involves leading a team to deliver Operational Assurance Testing to validate the customs system to identify critical defects in core components before they are released to Live Services. My work involves reporting to senior stakeholders and my team has been recognised for the meticulous approach and consistency in deliverables. Outside of my project work, I am the chapter lead for the process of high quality bid writing, which is used to define the approach for all bids done in the Public Sector.
