As the Project Officer - Infrastructure for the STaR Project in Nigeria, I lead the planning, coordination, and technical implementation of productive and social infrastructure initiatives aimed at enhancing community resilience and sustainable development. I ensure that all infrastructure activities align with engineering best practices, environmental and social safeguards (ESHS), and CRS quality standards, while also managing stakeholder engagement to drive long-term impact.Key Responsibilities- Lead the design, assessment, and execution of infrastructure projects, ensuring high-quality technical delivery and adherence to safety and environmental standards- Oversee the full project cycle, including technical planning, budgeting, tendering, contracting, and implementation, ensuring efficiency and compliance- Supervise and coordinate implementing partners, contractors, and local stakeholders to facilitate smooth execution and sustainability of infrastructure interventions- Develop and implement the Cash-for-Work (CFW) protocol, working closely with community leaders to identify skilled and unskilled labor beneficiaries and oversee training- Conduct technical inspections of project sites to monitor progress, resolve challenges, and ensure compliance with project specifications and donor requirements- Liaise with government agencies, NGOs, and community stakeholders, fostering collaboration and promoting CRS’s mission of serving vulnerable communities through sustainable infrastructure solutions- Provide technical advisory and capacity building to project staff and partners, strengthening their expertise in infrastructure planning and execution- Ensure accountability and impact assessment, supporting project monitoring, evaluation, and reporting to enhance learning and continuous improvement.
