ABOUT LISA PRINCE
We all want to have great ideas. But do we know how? I’m regularly standing in front of fifty people in a cool, culturally switched-on company. I ask how many people are expected to have an idea for a living and everyone raises their hands. I ask how many people have been taught how to have an idea and the number of hands shrinks to two. There is an enormous gap between the innovative thinking we demand, and the skills we provide to get there. I founded School of Ideas to close this gap. Clients include Nike, Netflix, adidas, Toyota, Lexus, Riot Games, The New York Times, Door Dash, and Zappos- Innovative thinking can be taught- It has to be useful today- You can have great ideas without burnout : the essential skills behind great ideas, finding juicy problems (not just solving them), leveraging your POV for more innovation, uncovering new and valuable insights, writing briefs your creative partners can’t wait to work on, landing an idea that people will pay attention to, and how to give the best feedback of your life. Never ask me for freeway directions.I don’t believe I can teach without also doing the day job and regularly consult on knotty problems; from the future of autonomous trucking to a new Hollywood studio model. I cracked my teeth on ideas as a Creative Strategist for 25 years, including 10 years at Weiden + Kennedy in London, Portland and Shanghai. My thinking has led to Gold Lions, an Emmy, an IPA Effectiveness Award (boy, they’re hard), several D & AD awards, and the most successful initiative in P&G’s 189 history: Proud Sponsor of Moms:I know I’m demystifying ideas, innovation and creativity.
