Ten years ago whilst trying to understand how to get data from a pulse port on a meter. A colleague of my commented: “this information would be useful for trading”. In the ten years since that statement I’ve been through most if not all the of the energy lifecycle from customer/generator, to price, to meter, to forecast, to trade, to settlements, to bill and realised that its not just pulse port data that’s useful for trading but a diverse and complex mix of data, processes and logic however I still feel in many ways I’m still trying to find solutions of that initial statement ten years ago it’s just bigger than I ever thought.
