I am currently responsible for the management of around 180 sugar beet growers producing in excess of 300kt of sugar beet per annum. Close working relationships are required to give yield and agronomy advice, and contract management. There is a logistics element to this role also, working with around 30 hauliers to transport both beet to Newark factory and co-products to customers. Health & safety is a key focus day-to-day as well as efficiency and Continuous Improvement.

ABOUT MATT BOOTH

Motivated Account Manager currently working in a varied role within the Commercial Agriculture department of British Sugar. I am a BASIS & FACTS qualified agronomist, plus achieved Advanced BASIS (Sugar Beet). My degree and further qualifications in agriculture, coupled with practical experience in the wider agricultural industry, allows me to succesfully work with customers and suppliers in these current times of exciting changes.I work alongside beet growers across Yorkshire, Nottinghamshire and North Lincolnshire to help boost yields, give agronomic advice, manage supply contracts, sell co-products and coordinate deliveries. I currently work with a network of more than 250 beet growers, LimeX customers, hauliers and other industry partners. My current role includes a significant amount of managing supply contracts direct to farmers and the logistics associated with these, sales either direct to farmer or through merchants, health & safety and IT. I enjoy being involved with projects and new system design and implementation. Additional skills which enable me to improve and streamline tasks include using IT (especially Microsoft 365) to a high level and support the department with implementation of new systems, helped by being qualified in Continuous Improvement. I also have qualifications in areas such as sales, negotiation skills, giving effective presentations and First Aid.Outside of work I enjoy travelling, DIY and the outdoors.Interested in property investment. Part time landlord.
