ABOUT MATT SMITH
I began my career working with early stage technologies in 2001 with DARPA-funded work at McGill University’s Center for Intelligent Machines where I led and managed design of a legged robotics platform later acquired by Boston Dynamics. After a period in Core Engineering at Bombardier aerospace, I co-founded and was CEO of two startups; one a technology incubator spinning out patented technologies; the other a retail automation franchiser. Other roles in early stage companies included Product Management, VP Operations and Chief Quality Officer in life science sector startup Aurora Interactive and VP Operations in industrial hybrid clean tech company EcoPower (acquired by Mi-Jack). As Partner & COO of TandemLaunch, I combined my passion for entrepreneurship, deep tech, corporate development and deal flow with expertise in execution (engineering, product management, quality and operations) to carry out my mandate as advisor to TandemLaunch’s promising early-stage incubated ventures.After a few years working with YC grads at AON3D, I\'ve now founded a consulting practice to help growing businesses scale with appropriate processes and tools.
