ABOUT MING TAN

Ming is the Global Practice Leader for Nuclear in Mott MacDonald responsible for providing global technical leadership, as well as driving professional excellence and innovation strategies for the nuclear sector in Mott MacDonald. Ming has over 20 years of experience exclusively in the nuclear sector, with the last 10 years working with new nuclear vendors in the UK and internationally. Ming has in-depth knowledge of new nuclear deployment process and challenges, as well as regulatory framework in the UK, Asia Pacific and the US. Ming also leads the Small Modular Reactor portfolio for Mott MacDonald, providing leadership and key strategic thinking of the Small Modular Reactor sector, and are responsible for the growth of the sector and successful delivery of the SMR projects globally.With a PhD in the field of structural dynamics and elected committee for SECED, Ming was also the Advanced Analysis Discipline Lead, responsible for the direction and management of the advanced analysis team within Mott MacDonald nuclear division. The team has a wide range of skills including nonlinear advanced seismic soil-structure interaction analyses and designs, complex finite element and explicit analyses, blast and impact, as well as seismic risk/fragility studies.
