ABOUT MIKE TERRY

For as long as I can remember, I have enjoyed the challenge of solving the seeminglyunsolvable. This sparked my interest in engineering; analysing processes with the aim ofimproving operations by building solutions and solving problems to increase efficiencies. Iwas naturally fascinated by electrical engineering with a specific focus on railwayengineering. As the saying goes, ‘choose a job you love, and you’ll never have to work aday in your life’ which I have been incredibly lucky to achieve.Throughout my time with Network Rail, I have rapidly progressed, allowing me tostrategically combine my technical experience with my operational expertise, to lead anddeliver a consistently reliable service across the high-volume Wessex route. I have been instrumentalin developing and delivering forward-thinking strategies, operational roadmaps, resourceoptimisation initiatives and risk mitigation solutions.Demonstrating exceptional leadership capabilities, I have earned recognition for effectivelyleading cross-functional and joint stake holder teams, bridging cultural differences with commercialobjectives and technical capabilities while maintaining focus on business strategy.I eagerly identify and engage with new ideas and define innovative solutions, allowing meto provide continuous value and growth to the organisation and key stakeholders.
