ABOUT MICHELLE TIJERINA
My name is Michelle Tijerina, Community Coordinator and Supervisor for the Voz y Corazon Suicide Prevention Program at WellPower, a large nonprofit formerly known as Mental Health Center of Denver. I am a Queer Indigenous/Latina Mental Health Professional, who has worked in the Denver Metro Area for 25 years. Voz y Corazon is a community-based youth support program that uses art, group mentoring, and suicide prevention training to help teens & young adults build their own communities, develop their identities, and help intervene in situations where other youth are at risk of possible suicide. Serving hundreds of youth per year, I have been coordinating the Voz y Corazon Suicide Prevention Program for 14 years.
