ABOUT KEN MACINTYRE
I am a firm believer in quality/collaborative care. I welcome and value the collaboration between patients, nurses, social work, and other physicians. I believe that patients deserve, and should expect, the highest quality of care and that is what I aim to provide. I am a strong patient advocate and will fight hard for whatever care is necessary and in the best interests of an individual. I believe in the value and power of psychotherapy (utilizing primarily psychodynamic, supportive, and cognitive behavioral techniques) as monotherapy or in addition to medication. Through my work on inpatient psychiatric units, psychiatric crisis units, and various types of outpatient settings, I have gained experience in treating patients with various mental health issues ranging from traumatic brain injury to psychotic & /or mood disorders. My medication philosophy is grounded in a strong knowledge of psychopharmacology. I enjoy public speaking opportunities related to mental health education & /or training and am available for presentations as requested. Prior to medicine, I had 22 years of experience in the business world (Real Estate Finance), primarily in the areas of underwriting and mortgage operations. I also worked for 5 years in Denver\'s theatre community in both Production and Stage Management.
