ABOUT MICHAEL CHAWATAMA

My career has been shaped by complex, high-stakes environments in health and social care, where the is an inevitable focus on quality, risk, regulation and people’s lives. I’ve led services, divisions and organisations through growth, turnaround and regulatory scrutiny. That experience is the bedrock of my advisory work with boards, CEOs and investors. I work with organisations at points where they are scaling, integrating acquisitions or under operational pressure. My focus is on ensuring that what looks right strategically or commercially will hold up in practice. I’m usually engaged where there is a gap between what looks right on paper and what is likely to work in practice. My work focuses on: • Growth and integration risk in regulated environments • Quality, safeguarding and regulatory resilience at scale • Portfolio and service-mix strategy, including investment and exit readiness I draw on early clinical training as a Registered Mental Health Nurse, combined with group-level operational and commercial experience across the public and private sectors. This allows me to bridge board-level strategy with the reality of frontline care and work effectively with investors, regulators, commissioners and leadership teams. I work independently through clearly defined advisory engagements, providing an external operator perspective to support confident decision-making and sustainable performance.
