ABOUT JENNIFER ORKIS

As a social and behavior change (SBC) champion who\'s passionate about using the power of the communication for good, I\'ve been raising the bar on SBC interventions in Sub-Saharan Africa and Latin America and the Caribbean for the last 19+ years. I have worked extensively in the areas of malaria, HIV, family planning, maternal, newborn, and child health, TB, COVID-19, Zika, and Global Health Security, spanning countries including Tanzania, Uganda, Nigeria, Ghana, Guyana, Jamaica, Zambia, Eswatini, South Africa, and Namibia. Through participatory, collaborative co-creation processes, I have facilitated the development of multiple SBC strategies and the design of innovative national campaigns, bringing Ministries of Health, implementing partners, creative agencies, community-based organizations, donors, and private sector partners around the table to harmonize SBC efforts, maximize reach and impact, and strengthen local capacity. I have spearheaded the development of a wide range of SBC solutions, from radio and TV spots and programs, game shows, documentaries, serial dramas, and feature films to community outreach activities, training curricula, counseling tools, job aids, client materials, and state-of-the-art social media and mHealth platforms.
