Knowledge of the Department of Defense (DoD) active duty, reserve, National Guard, Coast Guard, veterans, and family members’ education benefits and programs- Ability to obtain the knowledge and skills needed to become a Veteran School Certifying Official and develop proficiency in using VA-ONCE- Ability to interpret and apply federal, state, and college policies and procedures as they relate to students utilizing Veterans Administration Education Benefits, Active Duty Tuition Assistance, Military Spouse Career Advancement Accounts (MyCAA), and Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) Individual Training Account (ITA) education benefits, and other benefit programs- Ability to work effectively with a diverse student population and provide excellent student service- Ability to work effectively as a team within CMVE Military Contract Programs, and with the CMVE Office of Veterans Affairs and student services and Workforce Solutions; engage and interact collegially with administrators, faculty, staff, parents, students, college contracted bookstore, and the general public- Ability to assist students with workforce career exploration and planning- Demonstrated skills in the use of computer application software to include word processing, spreadsheets, student information system, and workforce enterprise system- Ability to work accurately with details, construct records, make data entries, track curriculum, and safe guard administrative file records- Knowledge of and ability to interpret and apply the Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), Personal Non-Public Information (PNPI), and execute policies and procedures as it relates to Veterans Affairs processes.
