Achievements: • Awarded Lean Six Sigma Green Belt accreditation by British Quality Foundation after successfully completing project which increased productivity of surface mount department by 50%- Huge reduction in changeover time (SMED) while increasing efficiency of machine while in production. • Introduction of Selective Soldering process (£200K – 3 year ROI) to automate soldering operation saving of hours per year and improving quality/repeatability of the process – Visit Germany to run trials. Currently managing project to buy a second machine due to the success of the first machine. • Investigate, select and installation of new surface mount equipment.(Total over £1M investment). • Appointed IPC specialist and ESD coordinator. • Re-layout of manufacturing department – use Value Stream Mapping to improve efficiency and reduce waste. • Create technical white papers for company website – featured in company promotional videos Responsibilities: • Smooth running of manufacturing department – resolving technical issues and process improvement. • Investigation into potential new equipment/processes – Manage installation, commissioning and training. • Continuous improvement initiatives – monitor KPI’s and machine data to create improvement actions • Documentation of projects and processes – share with stakeholders and key members of staff • Design reviews of PCBA with customers to recommend changes to improve manufacturability, reduce cost and reduce chance for defects or at least improve chance of fault detection– FMEA, DFMA, Poka Yoke, Lean • New product introduction – work closely with customers to fully understand their requirements, follow first batch through production process and generate manufacturing report to provide feedback. • Review of PCB data before manufacture to ensure compatible with machines and intended processes. • Keep up to date with manufacturing techniques by attending technology days, webinars and exhibitions
