ABOUT MICHAEL HINES
I recently graduated from the Hertie School of Governance in Berlin, Germany, with a Master of Public Policy. I am interested in working in local government and climate change, ideally at the intersection of the two fields. My coursework centered around sustainability, particularly the net-zero energy transition and climate policies. My thesis focused on funding for fighting climate change at the local level in the United States and attempted to explain why American cities do not turn to the voluntary carbon credit market when seeking funding for emissions-reduction projects. Prior to attending the Hertie School, I worked as a writer and editor for more than a decade in the automotive and tech industries. In addition to writing and editing articles I also hired and managed content teams and created editorial strategies.
