WORK HISTORY

Mar 2025 — Present

Senior Product Manager @Feedonomics

Commerce is moving into AI. I\'m helping build the infrastructure that makes it work.I lead product strategy for our integration platform and order management systems - but the most forward-looking work I do is on Agentic Commerce: building the data syndication layer that enables consumers to complete purchases directly within AI platforms like ChatGPT, and working hands-on with teams at PayPal, Stripe, and Google to define what trustworthy, scalable AI-native transactions need to look like.On the platform side, I made one of the more consequential calls of my career: rebuilding FeedAMP - our core OMS - from scratch. The original system was a rigid, cron-based state machine that polled for updates every 15 minutes. When Amazon Today came along with a real-time BOPIS model and tight fulfillment deadlines, it simply couldn\'t support it. I designed FeedAMP v2 from the ground up: event-driven, API-first, built for real-time order ingestion and merchant acknowledgment. It\'s now the foundation for every non-standard order workflow we run.I also noticed merchants were struggling to integrate with our REST API - so I built an SDK myself, drawing on what I\'d learned from personally troubleshooting hundreds of integrations. It cut onboarding time by 30%.Key outcomes: → Rebuilt core OMS from cron-based → real-time event-driven architecture (FeedAMP v1 → v2) → Reduced third-party integration dev time by 50% → Built and shipped REST API SDK, cutting merchant onboarding time by 30% → Leading Agentic Commerce - influencing AI checkout standards at PayPal, Stripe & Google → Hands-on API troubleshooting and merchant integration support across the platform

ABOUT MICHAEL GARCIA

Most product managers understand commerce. I\'ve lived it from the inside out. I started on the floor of a marketplace operations team - managing product listings, troubleshooting fulfillment issues, and learning firsthand what breaks when systems don\'t talk to each other. That operational foundation turned into an obsession: what would it take to build the infrastructure that makes all of this work seamlessly, at scale? Eight years later, that obsession is my career.I joined Feedonomics as one of the first ~20 employees when it was still figuring out what it wanted to be. I grew through every layer of the company - operations, technical project management, and into product leadership - helping shape it through an acquisition along the way. What I built in that time: → Rebuilt our core order management platform from a rigid, cron-based system into a real-time event-driven architecture - because Amazon Today needed orders ingested in seconds, not minutes → Designed and shipped RESTful APIs and an SDK that cut merchant integration time by 30% and dev time by 50% → Expanded marketplace connectivity to 10+ new selling channels - TikTok Shop, Instagram Checkout, Target+, and more → Reduced data processing times by 300% through API architecture improvements → Drove 20%+ growth in order routing adoption through better workflow design.Today I\'m working on what comes next. I lead our Agentic Commerce initiative - building the infrastructure that lets consumers check out directly within AI platforms like ChatGPT, and sitting at the table with PayPal, Stripe, and Google as they figure out what payment and fulfillment flows need to look like in an AI-native world. It\'s the most exciting problem I\'ve worked on, and it sits exactly at the intersection of where commerce, AI, and platform infrastructure are converging. What makes me different as a PM: I still get my hands dirty. I personally troubleshoot merchant API integrations. I\'ve written the docs, built the SDK, redesigned the architecture. I don\'t just define what needs to be built - I understand deeply how it gets built and why it sometimes can\'t. That technical fluency changes the quality of every decision I make. If you\'re building something at the intersection of commerce infrastructure, API platforms, marketplace ecosystems, or AI-native transactions - I\'d genuinely love to talk.
