In my current role, as Director: International Recruitment, I oversee a substantial portfolio which contributes $300m+ per annum to the University\'s circa $1bn revenue. I have led through ongoing uncertainty and change, transforming culture and creating an environment of excellence, inclusivity and respect; enabling team members to thrive. Additionally, relationships with pathway partners and education agents have been significantly enhanced with UoA now an institute of first choice.In my tenure to date, record international commencement levels were achieved in each of 2018 & 2019. Irrespective of closed borders, 2020 delivered the second best year on record. 2021 (71% above target) and 2022 (90% above target) produced similarly spectacular results resulting in budget surpluses of c.$55m and c.$36m per annum respectively. These results have been achieved against a backdrop of highly stringent Covid cost saving measures. I was a founding member of the University\'s \'Incident Response Taskforce\' at the onset of Covid and devised a number of strategies to mitigate against the loss of international student revenue. Many were market leading, including fee contributions, travel grants, accommodation support and on arrival campaigns. I have completely overhauled the University\'s approach to application fees, commissions and scholarships, returning substantial funding to projected University expenditure budgets. There has been a considerable positive impact on admissions workload and GTE risk has been significantly reduced. Additionally, I have been at the forefront of admissions and recruitment reform, examining and reviewing recruitment and admissions processes to ensure the University is easy to do business with and is best equipped to capitalise on future opportunity.
