ABOUT MICAH GREENLAND

As the International Director of NCSY, I am dedicated to empowering Jewish teens and engaging them in Jewish life. I am honored to lead an organization that fosters a lasting connection to Judaism through our 22 summer programs, hundreds of JSU clubs, relief missions, Shabbatons, and after school programs across the globe. Now more than ever, Jewish teens in public and day schools need support and community. When I joined my local NCSY chapter at the age of nine, I could not have anticipated the profound impact it would have on my life. I grew up in NCSY and embraced every leadership role that came my way, from Chapter VP of Education for Rochester, NY to National VP of NCSY. Being elected youth National Board President at the 1993 NCSY National Convention was a pivotal moment of my teenage years. I also served as an advisor throughout my undergraduate, graduate, and Smicha years at Yeshiva University. My experiences in NCSY as a teen and an advisor have shaped the person I am today. I have spent 23 years working with Jewish teens in both academic and experiential contexts as a high school Rebbe, NCSY Midwest Regional director, and NCSY International Director. I have additionally devoted my time to supporting rabbinic resources through my volunteer work as a committee chair and former President of the Chicago Rabbinical Council, as well as on various school boards and advisor committees. Outside of my professional role, I am a proud husband and father of five incredible children and three children-in-law.
