ABOUT MELVIN TAYLOR
I grew up in a small farming town in Kentucky, where my grandfather, an Army veteran, set the example that shaped my life. His lessons were straightforward: work hard, be dependable, and take pride in doing things the right way. As the oldest of four boys, I carried a little extra weight on my shoulders. From gathering eggs in the chicken coop before school to handling the bigger chores on the farm, I learned quickly that leadership isn’t just given, it’s earned by showing you can take responsibility and deliver. Those lessons built my confidence early and gave me a clear understanding of what it means to step up and get things done. Those early mornings and long days gave me a lasting respect for service, responsibility, and perseverance. They remain the foundation of how I approach every opportunity. I don’t claim to have all the answers, but I do know this: leadership means being accountable, setting the tone, and working toward something bigger than yourself. That’s the standard my grandfather set, and it’s the one I carry with me today.
