ABOUT MEGEN HOENK

I’m currently Senior Marketing and Communications Manager at Search Institute, managing communication and thought leadership strategy, multi-channel content creation and marketing plans, as well as brand awareness, with an overarching goal of amplifying Search Institute’s mission and the organization’s ongoing contributions to positive youth development and youth thriving.I served as Senior Communications Counselor at Neuger Communications Group in Minneapolis, MN, working closely with clients from a variety of sectors including education, financial, healthcare and non profit. I provided account and project management, as well as communications and branding strategy.During my time as Director of Corporate Communications at the North Carolina Railroad Company. I specialized in increasing the company\'s visibility and impact on economic development, with a focus on thought leadership and media relations. Prior to joining the North Carolina Railroad Company, I was the Director of Marketing and External Affairs for the North Carolina Community College System Office, managing marketing and media relations for the most comprehensive community college system in the nation. I began my communications career in broadcast journalism and spent eight years working in public radio news media. I moved to North Carolina in 2003 to work as a reporter at Public Radio East, a public radio station serving eastern North Carolina, eventually being named News Director and serving in that capacity for three years.
