As Prisma Health\'s first Chief APP, it is an honor to \"Inspire health. Serve with compassion. Be the difference.\" APRNs, PAs, and CAAs are delivering high-quality patient care with physicians that transform care and the patient experience. We are achieving the mission through clinical excellence, training/education, access to care, community focus, and innovation.As an advocate for healthcare legislation, several state laws and internal policies that empower PAs and APRNs to practice to their full potential have been successfully enacted, contributing to a more effective healthcare system in South Carolina and beyond.Teaching at the University of Lynchburg, a doctoral program in leadership, MUSC\'s PA program, and through national speaking engagements, I instill in healthcare leaders and students the importance of emotional intelligence, understanding organizational behavior and responding to change, ethical practice, business acumen, and wellness-focused care models that are lean. As a commitment to patient care, I practice weekly in family medicine using functional medicine principles that focus on preventative care and address the root causes of health issues.
