ABOUT ANN-KATHRIN MCLEAN
I am an award-winning Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Management at Royal Roads University. With a particular focus on interactive and engaging learning activities and challenges, I bring a facilitative approach to my teaching and learning. I encourage a \'students as partners\' approach in my classroom and strive for creative learning spaces in which we co-create meaning through technology-enabled teaching approaches. My doctoral research explored the relationship between collective memory, Holocaust remembrance, and the Dachau Concentration Camp Memorial Site in Germany. Understanding this relationship is important as we see a revival in fascist populism worldwide. I specifically focused on how Millennials engage with the memorial site, and I argue that they transfer a new form of (post)memory, namely the Zone of Transitional Memory.
