ABOUT MATT BERGGREN
I’m currently serving in a temporary capacity as Senior Manager at TransLink, where I lead the Transit Network Manager, Transit Network Development, and First Nations Transportation teams. My permanent role is Manager of the Transit Network Development team at TransLink, Metro Vancouver\'s public transit agency. In this role, I oversee a team responsible for developing multimodal 30-year strategic facilities plans, managing fleet planning across all transit modes, and creating annual and 10-year service plans. Earlier in my career, I worked as a transit planner at Cherriots in Salem, Oregon. There, I developed an annual service planning program and service guidelines, created a service expansion plan that led to the restoration of weekend bus service, and designed and implemented the West Salem Connector on-demand transit pilot project. While living in Portland, Oregon, I earned a Master’s in Urban and Regional Planning from Portland State University. Prior to that, in Chicago, I earned a Bachelor’s degree in Public Policy with a concentration in Urban Studies, along with a Geographic Information Systems certificate, from DePaul University.
