ABOUT MAX WASSER

I am a young professional beginning my career in climate finance and decarbonization. I recently graduated with my Master of Environmental Management with a specialization in Business and The Environment with a dedication to energy justice, our energy transition, and addressing our climate catastrophe. I bring my background in ecology and wildlife biology with me as a guiding passion for our planet, its people, and its flora and fauna. As the culmination of my Master’s Degree at Yale, I designed an independent-study capstone on Community Resilience Hubs, deploying IRA funding to finance solar, storage, and EV infrastructure in low- and middle-income communities, along with two peers and the Connecticut Green Bank. For this project, we are creating publicly available business plans and financial models for developing community-level projects designed to increase grid resilience and energy equity in the face of unstable grids, a changing climate, and rising energy prices. This work is taking us through the complexities of project finance, tax equity, and battery discharge models while also examining the policies and structures of federal and state energy programs. When I am not in class or working, I stay energized and focused by skiing, biking, and enjoying all outdoor activities with family and friends, always accompanied by my dog, Laramie.
