ABOUT MAX CHEN HUANG

I am a 3rd year undergraduate studying physics and chemical engineering in the VIPER program at the University of Pennsylvania. I share a deep passion for tackling the world’s most pressing energy challenges. My experiences have instilled in me values of open communication, teamwork, and leadership—qualities I carry forward as I pursue both technical excellence and collaborative problem-solving.I believe that the defining breakthroughs of this century will come not from AI and software alone, but from applying advanced computational tools to overcome hardware challenges: new materials, energy systems, and large-scale engineering. Clean energy innovation (especially in fusion and other transformative technologies) is not just important, it is urgent. The demand curve for energy is rising steeply, and without radical progress in hardware, we cannot meet it sustainably.My goal is to contribute to this effort by bridging physics, chemical engineering, and computational methods to develop and test materials, design systems, and advance the technologies that will power a sustainable future. By combining technical expertise with a collaborative spirit, I hope to make meaningful contributions to building the clean energy infrastructure the world needs.
