ABOUT MAURICIO A.
Mauricio majored in Political Science and Public Administration at Mexico City’s Universidad Iberoamericana. He holds an M.A. in Human Rights from the same university, and a specialty diploma in Immigration Studies from Mexico’s prestigious Colegio de la Frontera Norte. Throughout his career, Mauricio has worked extensively to promote and advance human rights, particularly regarding discrimination in LGTBQ and indigenous populations. He has also advocated for gender equality and sexual and reproductive rights. Mauricio has worked for numerous local and federal Mexican government agencies, such as Mexico City’s Health Ministry (Secretaría de Salud de la Ciudad de México), Mexico City’s Council to Prevent and Eradicate Discrimination (Consejo para Prevenir y Eliminar la Discriminación de la Ciudad de México), Mexico’s National Commission to Prevent and Eradicate Violence Against Women (CONAVIM), and Mexico’s Ministry of Labor. Additionally, Mauricio has served as an advisor at Mexico’s ADIL (Alliance for Diversity and Labor Inclusion), the National Institute for Social Development (Instituto Nacional de Desarrollo Social), and the Advisory Council for the organization Género y Desarrollo GENDES A.C. Currently, Mauricio is the Manager for Diversity and Inclusiveness at EY’s North Lat/Am branch, where he oversees and implements policies that advance a climate of inclusiveness in the corporate workplace, especially in the case of women, people with disabilities, LGTBQ people, and younger populations.
