ABOUT MATTHEW CSORTAN

Matthew is an innovative executive leader with 25 years’ experience across a variety of industries including renewable energy and sustainability, defence, advanced manufacturing, hi tech electronics, asset management, electrical, automation, communications, plastics and engineering. Currently at MAC Trade Services, Matthew holds the position of Chief Operating Officer.Prior to joining MAC, Matthew held the role of General Manager, Group Operations at ZEN Energy Pty Ltd, with responsibility for ZEN\'s \'behind the meter\' energy solutions business and providing innovative, value-add solutions to ZEN\'s portfolio of retail customers including the South Australian Government and CSIRO.General Manager, CCSM Performance at ASC Pty Ltd, with accountability for the Program Management Office of the Collins Class Submarine In Service Support Contract, Program and Project Management, Commercial management, Submarine Asset Management, Lifecycle Planning and Submarine Capability Development, Strategy Development and Business Improvement and Transformation.Previously as Executive GM, Group Operations at Codan Limited, Matthew was responsible for a broad range of centralised functions including global electronics manufacturing and supply chain, export & logistics, process & test engineering, IT, business systems and facilities management. His broad range of experience has resulted in a unique ability to manage multi-disciplinary teams and navigate complex business challenges. Matthew has proven leadership in organisational change strategies at both a local and international level. He is an expert in business transformation and process innovation across a multitude of disciplines and has the ability to successfully harness the knowledge of individuals at all levels within an organisation to drive change forward by respectfully creating dissatisfaction with the current state.Matthew has a deep knowledge and understanding of lean principles and can apply them via an ‘end to end’ business approach with demonstrated success over many years with significant business profit improvement.Matthew is truly passionate about his work and the people he leads and guides. He fosters a no-blame culture, develops resilience in teams and teaches individuals to embrace change and run towards fires, not away from them.
