Transition Services Specialist:• Acts as a liaison between Rite of Passage and outside agencies aligned to assist transitioning Youth Felony Offenders. Develops and maintains professional relationships with Workforce Center staff, YOS Officers, Career Coordinators and all community – based contacts.• Maintains regular contact with Workforce Center staff to assist in developing employment and training plans/services.Provides mentoring/counseling for students, clients, and family.• Researches employment and educational opportunities for clients. Develops and maintains positive relationships with regional career path employers and colleges.• Interfaces with the community to secure employment for clients. Provides clients with guidance in preparing for employment and teaches interviewing skills.• Provides life skills training (i.e. shopping, meal planning, budgeting, active parenting, etc.).• Collaborates efforts with the State of Colorado Department of Corrections (DOC). Primary representative for building and maintaining professional relationships with DOC officials.
