ABOUT MATT GLASS

Engineering and Project Management leader with 17 years of capital project management experience across various industries in both Canada and Australia. Matt has a demonstrated ability to oversee project portfolios throughout all phases of the project development lifecycle, from Pre-Feasibility through Detailed Engineering, Procurement, Fabrication, Construction and Commissioning. Matt has successfully led teams in varying project and operations functions including engineering, material management, contract management, construction, project controls, pre-commissioning and talent development. This diverse leadership skill set enables him to apply a well-rounded and innovative perspective to project and business team environments. Most recently Matt has been the Manager of Third Party Engineering engagements, as well as the development and management of Project Engineering and Supplier Quality Surveillance functions, at Irving Oil. In his first two years at Irving, Matt was also a Project Manager for various major and high complexity projects. Prior to working in New Brunswick, Matt held various Project Management roles in Alberta. In late 2017 he was Pre-commissioning Lead (Buildings) on the Fort Hills Utilities and Offsites project, where he was responsible for leading craft, contractors and CMT team members for building completions and obtaining occupancy permits. In years prior to this, he was Module Coordinator and Package Manager on the Encana CRP Program in Dawson Creek, BC. Matt’s responsibilities included establishment of Execution Plans and program procedures, Package Manager for the $150MM Compressor and ASD Buildings order and Module Coordinator for the Saturn 15-27P2 project. Matt was a significant contributor to the success of the program; results included $2MM in negotiated package savings and free equipment storage, the establishment of ‘best practice’ program procedures and driving the acceleration of the Saturn module program by 6 weeks. Whilst Fluor, Matt was an active member of the Fluor Talent Development community. He was a significant contributor to Fluor’s first global ‘Innovation Unwrapped’ event and held various executive committee positions, including President of the Emerging Leaders Group.
