Open, honest communication helps me build trust and keeps me accountable to my commitments and goals.What I make is software-I am a driven Full Stack Developer, Frontend Architect, Team Lead and mentor, Engineering and Accessibility Advocate, and more. I don\'t have much hair so I wear many hats.Throughout my eighteen year career in software development, I have worked in various settings and industries. Each have provided me with important experience to fuel my professional growth.I spent the early half of my career working in the mining software industry. There, my roles ranged from Software Developer, Product Analyst to Consultant. I gained experience as the sole developer on contract projects, and as part of a development team. By working directly with clients and stakeholders from the beginning, I learned to communicate with empathy, respect and clarity.Working with both startup and established companies taught me the value of prioritization, time management, and a healthy work life balance. As a team lead and software architect, I not only see the value of my own constant learning, but the benefit of mentoring and fostering growth in others. Speaking at both local meetups and larger conferences has been a great opportunity to share my knowledge and enthusiasm with industry peers, new and old. I am a developer through and through. I am passionate about learning new technology and honing my skills, always with the goal of being a productive member of the team.
